I collect antique pens and pencils and have just added three pencils to my collection. Two are Edwardian and one is undated but probably pre-1930. I find Ebay and online auction sites very useful for finding little gems. Nowadays more antique shops in tiny villages are putting their wares online, making it possible for people from all over the world to have access to them. My favorite pen brands are Yard-O-Led, Yard-O-Lette and Samuel Mordan. Yard-O-Led pencils have an actual yard of lead in them (12 x 3 inches) so when they made smaller pencils they could not longer claim that they held a Yard-O-Led so they were named Yard-O-Lette
In these pictures the pen with the blue topper and the picture of King Edward on it is very rare and is Edwardian – probably 1901. The pen with the amethyst topper is also Edwardian but from 1910. The third pen, which telescopes and is made to hand on a fob is not as old.
